Day One, Only 260 Vive Focus units sold on Tmall

HTC’s standalone VR headset for the China market, the VIVE FOCUS opened for pre-order on December 12th (Beijing time) in most of China’s major online stores (Vive.com, JD.com, Tmall.com) and offline sales channels (Gome, Suning).

Among these five sales channels, only Tmall.com’s sales figures are public, so we did a stats. And after 24 hours, We find that only only 260 units sold on Tmall.com. As Tmall is one of the major sales channels, and most Chinese prefer to shop on Tmall.com or JD.com, we estimate that less than 1000 Vive Focus units had been sold on day one.

And after 35 hours, Tmall’s figure is 251, less than 260. Seems some users have canceled their orders.

It is roomscale by using the same method of inside out tracking as microsft’s. Just the controllers are not really.

I’m not sure how much content there will be for this on launch – maybe that’s the problem.
